Match Point

That split second when darkness is shattered by light. Many current issues are, and have been, left in the dark too long: war, suffering, poverty, mental health issues, exploitation, corruption, racism, sexism, separatism, and more. When they are finally brought into the light it can be a startling burst of reality.

We are bombarded with other's "truths" daily through social media, the collective news media and our personal interactions. Ultimately, who can we look to to discern the real truth?

Number three in the series 'Burning Issues' this is 'We Are One'. Despite current media and political strategies which are designed to create social fractures; we are one. Though current top rated entertainment shows celebrate selfishness, greed and power over others as the most desirable personal traits; we are all one. Hearteningly, more and more we have seen social movements coming together to protest injustice and fight for the good of all. We are slowly realising We Are One.

Astonishingly, as with my other works, this image is not manipulated. I walked into the the room, turned and faced the opaque, tinted window. Suspended there, was a yellow glazed pot, with a yellow air plant, with yellow flowers. A perfect study in yellow.
